Donald B. DeLoach

Donald B. DeLoach joined Caldwell, Propst & DeLoach as a partner on July 1, 2013, after many years at his own firm, Frantz & DeLoach, LLP, and its predecessors. Don specializes in the following areas:

  • Estate planning, including gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax planning and wealth preservation
  • Drafting of Wills and Trusts
  • Probate and trust and estate administration
  • Business and non-profit entity creation, structuring, and planning
  • Providing legal counsel to closely-held businesses and nonprofit organizations on a regular basis

A native of Augusta, Georgia, Don received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree from the University of Georgia in 1974. He attended the University of Georgia School of Law in 1978, and while there received the American Jurisprudence Award in Civil Procedure. After one year of law school, he transferred to Emory University School of Law to live with his wife, who worked in Atlanta. At Emory he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Trust and Estates, graduated with distinction in 1981, and became a member of the Order of the Coif.

Don is a member of the Fiduciary Law and Taxation sections of the State Bar of Georgia, and is a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council. He is admitted to all Georgia trial and appellate courts, the United States District Court, the United States Tax Court, the United States Claims Court, and the United States Courts of Appeal in the Third, Fifth, Sixth, and Eleventh Circuits.

Don has been selected as a Georgia “Super Lawyer” every year from 2012 until the present.

Don and his wife Shellie live in Roswell and have three adult children and three grandchildren. His primary interests outside the office are family activities, theology, cycling, and playing guitar.
